The Park Condos, center, an incomplete and halted project that was to be high-end 21-story residential condos in downtown Charlotte. Purchased at auction in August 2009, after the initial development failed due to the recession, current owner , Florida-based Small Brothers LLC had not moved on continuing the project as of end-of-year 2010. It is a stark reminder of the effects of the economic downturn on the bustling banking center or Charlotte. In this view, the failed development is flanked on the left by the Wachovia/Wells Fargo Charlotte headquarters tower, and on the right by the Bank of America headquarters tower. On the far left is Duke Energy Center, owned by Wells Fargo but occupied by Duke Energy.
