Queen Charlotte sculpture by Washington, DC sculptor Raymond J. Kaskey. The statue is iconic to the Queen City's Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. Dedicated in 1990, the statue depicts Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz who had become queen consort of Britain's King George III the year before the City's founding in 1768. Queen Charlotte is the City's namesake.
