Badin-Alcoa_16.JPG
Town of Badin, built in the early 1900s by French Aluminum Company, later ALCOA, now the site of controversy over ALCOA's right to operate dams built for ALCOA's now-shuttered aluminum smelter. ALCOA wants to renew its FERC license to oeprate the dams, some locals say the righs to the river belong to the people and since the plant is no longer providing jobs, ALCOA should not have the right to generate electriicty for its own profit. This is water access to the Yadkin River at Badin.
