The Carolina Thread Trail will eventually be more than 1000 miles of multi-use trail in 15 North and South Carolina counties with Charlotte, NC at the center. It is a project of the Charlotte-based Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Trust for Public Land. The signs were erected in 2009 as the first miles were dedicated throughout the region.
